About Rotterdam EMS
Rotterdam Emergency Medical Services, Inc, or REMS, is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in
Rotterdam New York that provides Advanced Life Support ambulance service to the residents of the Town of Rotterdam. REMS operates 2 stations within the Town of Rotterdam. Each station houses 2 New York State Department of Health Certified ambulances which are always ready to respond to EMS requests. Both stations are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. EMS services are accessed through the 9-1-1 system.
REMS provides EMS service to 28,845* residents covering 36.5 square miles in the Town of Rotterdam
REMS Employment Opportunities
Emergency Medical Technician – Basic
Minimum Requirements:
Current valid AHA Health Care Provider CPR certification or equivalent;
Age: 18 years of age
Valid NYS EMT Certification;
Current valid New York State driver’s license with acceptable driving record;
Advanced Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic:
Age: 18 years of age for Paramedic;
Current valid New York State driver's license with acceptable driving record;
Minimum Requirements: Current valid AHA Health Care Provider CPR certification or equivalent; as well as current valid ACLS and PALS certifications.
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
High School diploma or equivalent;
Ability to lift and carry 125 pounds
1 Year experience preferred
Function
Provide Advanced Life Support in compliance with New York State and REMO protocols;
Be responsible for or assist in the proper response, treatment, care and transportation of all sick or injured persons in REMS response area or mutual aid district.
